Worthy Socks

My friend recently did me a huge favor by hauling a Robin spinning wheel home for me. She picked it up right in the heart of Manhattan, carrying it on the subway and everything. No one spoke to her, not even to ask what it was — but everyone around her was talking about it. The funniest part? Men were trying to figure out what it was and how it worked, but women knew what it was, thanks (we think) to Sleeping Beauty. Too funny!  To express my gratitude, I’ve cast on a pair of Cookie A.‘s Clandestine socks. Cookie A. is known for striking designs with logical rhythms, making the knitting enjoyable and never boring.  Clandestine is no exception.   The charts are clear and easy to follow, and I LOVE the slip stitch heel.  So simple, but so effective.  I love the way the semi-solid yarn is leaving little trails of light and dark across the fans and lace.  Love, love, love.  I hope my friend hates them.  Not really.  Well, maybe a little.

Yarn: Madelinetosh Tosh Sock
Needles: 1.5 dpns (size 1 was recommended; my gauge was tighter)
Size: Women’s 6.5
