Knits of a Feather Trunk ShowA smooth drive and perfect fall weather helped start the Knits of a Feather workshop weekend right!  Friday night’s trunk show and book signing was a pleasant, low-key affair with good snacks, great people, and (of course) knitting!  Samples from the book were available to touch and try on, including the Lovebird Mittens, Cardinal Cap, and Feathered Nest Cowl workshop subjects.

Feathered Nest Cowl WorkshopSaturday was filled with class time, featuring the Feathered Nest Cowl workshop in the morning, a quick break for lunch at the fabulous Parkside Market, then the Lovebird Mittens workshop in the afternoon.  As a knitting instructor, I really love having that big chunk of knitting time afforded by longer, workshop-style classes like these!  It’s so crucial to give people time to work on new techniques so that they can discover the challenges and questions they’ll have.  The cowl, for example, features a provisional cast on, requires chart…
